I have been pondering with the idea of uploading foodie posts for awhile now and with the new season shortly upon us i decided that the only way to get through the cold weather is with winter puddings and lets be honest who can refuse chocolate?
there's nothing better than a good chocolate pudding and these chocolate tarts are not only as fulfilling in the flavor department as the visual but they are great for sharing and those fancy dinner parties that you can now successfully throw. Your welcome. x
the recipe:
the recipe calls for 500g of shortcrust pastry however 400g is plenty
200g plain chocolate
75g butter softened (plus butter for greasing)
100g caster sugar
50g flour
4 eggs
4 x 10cm tart tin
baking tip: make sure the pastry is rolled out to the size of 20p coin and make sure that the tins are properly greased!
makes 10 tarts
- Heat the oven to 180C/fan 160C/gas 4. Bake the pastry blind for12 minutes. Mix 3/4 of the melted chocolate with the eggs, butter, sugar and flour. Pour into the pastry cases. Bake for 6–8 minutes until just set.
- dust with icing sugar, cocoa powder or both! (i added some chocolate flakes with a side of whipped cream)
