In early august I spent my holiday in a
sunny destination I can now official proclaim as my one true love, New York . Although
my love affair with the city couldn't last forever I thought I would piece
together a collection of outfits displaying my American pride along with
pictures captured from the trip.
My list of visited cities isn't exactly
lengthy however being surrounded by, in some cases, overly friendly
hospitality, an unlimited supply of Snapple, and endless retail therapy, the
decision was made clear that New
York is the place for me. The
revelation didn't exactly come as astonishment as Gossip Girl and Friends had prepped
me thoroughly for arrival. I slowly found myself conforming to their demise
whether it was eating at local diners or ‘J Walking’, which I was told is a
sign of a true New Yorker, or for my case the highly impatient. Having said
this, the hardest concept to acclimatise to was the hospitality. Being from England it is customary to question someone's motives for just wanting to know
the time of day so as you can imagine being grabbed by the arm in the subway,
sung to in Victoria secret and being told that after ordering chocolate chip
pancakes that my wish was their command one might say I was slightly taken
aback.
In terms of Fashion Manhattan really has it
all having been able to explore practically the whole of Manhattan shopping has
to offer its easy to say that my bank balance if I resided in New York, would severely
suffer and by the looks of things the people of New York really don’t let it go
to waste. Everywhere I went whether it was Soho or Times Square many were dressed to impress and sporting clothes I only wished I
owned.
I had such an unforgettable time not just
spending time there but also enjoying my birthday! I can’t wait to re visit and
see what else New York has to offer.
I was able to purchase a lot of amazing
pieces that you will be able to see in upcoming posts.
