Lets Here It For New York!

In early august I spent my holiday in a sunny destination I can now official proclaim as my one true love, New York. Although my love affair with the city couldn't last forever I thought I would piece together a collection of outfits displaying my American pride along with pictures captured from the trip.
My list of visited cities isn't exactly lengthy however being surrounded by, in some cases, overly friendly hospitality, an unlimited supply of Snapple, and endless retail therapy, the decision was made clear that New York is the place for me. The revelation didn't exactly come as astonishment as Gossip Girl and Friends had prepped me thoroughly for arrival. I slowly found myself conforming to their demise whether it was eating at local diners or ‘J Walking’, which I was told is a sign of a true New Yorker, or for my case the highly impatient. Having said this, the hardest concept to acclimatise to was the hospitality. Being from England it is customary to question someone's motives for just wanting to know the time of day so as you can imagine being grabbed by the arm in the subway, sung to in Victoria secret and being told that after ordering chocolate chip pancakes that my wish was their command one might say I was slightly taken aback.
In terms of Fashion Manhattan really has it all having been able to explore practically the whole of Manhattan shopping has to offer its easy to say that my bank balance if  I resided in New York, would severely suffer and by the looks of things the people of New York really don’t let it go to waste. Everywhere I went whether it was Soho or Times Square many were dressed to impress and sporting clothes I only wished I owned.
I had such an unforgettable time not just spending time there but also enjoying my birthday! I can’t wait to re visit and see what else New York has to offer.
I was able to purchase a lot of amazing pieces that you will be able to see in upcoming posts.

Yasie's Top 5 MAC Lipsticks

A girl can never have too many lipsticks. MAC is one of my favourite brand of lipsticks as they have a huge range of shades. I thought that I would share my top five. I must admit it was a challenge to choose only five, however I have narrowed it down to these shown below.

Left to Right-Creme D'Nude, Plink!, Creme Cup, Pervette, Creme De La Femme

Creme D'Nude is one of my all time favourite nude lipsticks. It is a cremesheen finnish therefore is moisturising and creamy on the lips. It is a great lipstick to pair with a dusty pink lipgloss as on its own I feel can wash me out.

Secondly Plink which is lustre formula has a sheer glossy finnish to the lips. It is a great lipstick for everyday wear as it is not dramatic. This shimmery shade is a lovely warm toned pink which I think would suit all complexions.
Creme Cup is one of my favourite lipsticks as it is the perfect nude pink I feel for my complexion.  As the finish is a cremesheen it is important to use some sort of  a lip scrub to ensure the product does not settle onto  the drier areas of your lips. This lipstick shade would look great day or night paired with a dramatic eye look.

Pervette is a sheer light lavender pink lipstick with a glaze finnish. It looks great as a sheen on its own on the lips or can be applied over a lip pencil to add a bolder appearance to the lips.

Lastly, Creme De La Femme is a deep pink shade laced with a touch of gold and has a frost finnish. This lipstick is  very true to colour when applied and would look great worn during any time of the day.

Lara's July Favourites

Now that we have entered August, my personal favourite month of the year, i thought i would share a collective of makeup and beauty products that i have been loving during the month of July. Enjoy x

From left to right, Soap and Glory Body Sprays in Glam a-lot and Mist you madly, Smashbox Photo finish primer, MAC lipstick in Lovelorn, Benefit girl meets pearl liquid highlight, Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, Rimmel Stay Matte powder, Label m Sea Salt Spray, Radial Brazilian tan in clear and Maybelline The Falsies mascara.

for summer i always opt for a light floral or sweet scent and they don't come sweeter than the Soap and Glory body sprays. They not only smell divine but they are long lasting and portable. the two scents are quite contrasting as mist you madly is a light fruity scent whereas Glam a lot has a slightly more muskier aroma making them a great day to night transitioning perfume.
Rodial's Brazilian self tanner in clear is a great light to medium tan. i love that it is buildable as well as long lasting. i don't normally use self tanners so for a novice like me i found it very easy to work with and apply.
Sea Salt sprays for hair have become a beauty must have this summer and for me i have been loving Label m's. you only need a light mist and your hair achieves instant texture.
A skin care product that i love is Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish. It removes makeup and clears skin and for me it lasts for a few months before i need to repurchase.

Smashbox has a great range of face primers for oily or dry skin. i love their primers as they leave a great glow and smoothness to the face. They last a long time and foundation glides on and stays on.
I love benefits Girl meets Pearl Liquid Highlighter. It is a pale pink highlighter with gold shimmer. (refer to swatch). when picked in the light it gives the face an amazing glow and its great to apply on the go as it doesn't require a brush.
Maybelline The falsies, not exactly a surprise favourite as this product is loved by many, i love the application, the wand, the volume and especially the price. For me i will always re purchase it.
Rimmel Stay Matte literally does what it states on the tin, it keeps your makeup matte all day. After Makeup Artist and Youtuber Tanya Burr expressed her admiration for the product i had to get it especially when it only costs £3.99 at boots, bargain!

My last July Favourite is Mac's lipstick in Lovelorn. its a  bright dusty pink Lustre. I love alot of the MAC lipsticks so choosing one for the month of July was a challenge. I think its a great summer lip shade that will brighten up even the most simplistic makeup look.
